Overview
Context
The world of video games is constantly
expanding: every season brings new
releases while older titles resurface
through updates and re-editions.
This growing ecosystem has made
gaming a cultural medium that reaches
a wide and diverse audience, far beyond
the traditional tech-savvy profile.
The Challenge
Current tools for organizing and tracking
games often feel fragmented, unintuitive,
or overly focused on data, leaving behind
what truly matters: the player’s experience.
The Outcome
The result was Trakr, a social platform
designed to help gamers discover,
track and share video games in a more
intuitive and engaging way. By combining
clear navigation, personalized features and
a stronger social experience, the final product
creates a space where users can organize their
gaming journey while connecting with a like-minded
community.
The Process
A user-centered approach from
research to validation.
The creation of Trakr followed a user-centered design process that combined research,
analysis, and iterative design. The project began with benchmarking existing platforms to
understand the current market landscape and identify both opportunities and gaps in
functionality and usability. To ground the solution in real needs, I conducted interviews
with gamers to uncover their frustrations, motivations, and habits when tracking or sharing
video games. From these insights, I developed user personas that represented key audience
segments and guided design decisions throughout the process. Based on this foundation,
I mapped the information architecture and produced low-fidelity wireframes, which later
evolved into high-fidelity prototypes. Finally, usability testing with real users provided
actionable feedback, allowing for refinements and iterations that shaped Trakr into a more
intuitive, social, and engaging experience.
